Joint Region of Peel, SOGC, Metrolinx and York University Meeting: Integrating Innovative Solutions in Goods Movement- Moving Ahead, June 20, 2014
This event was an opportunity for all members of Peel's Goods Movement Task Force, the Southern Ontario Gateway Council and Metrolinx's Urban Freight Forum to meet, learn, and discuss goods movement and how to integrate all of our efforts to benefit the broader region.


Moving into the Future Workshop: Importance of Multi-modal Transportation Planning on Ontario's Economy, May 9, 2014
This objective of this workshop is to bring together all levels of government, along with the private sector, to discuss the issues facing the Western Golden Horseshoe, including economic pressures, quality of life, land use and infrastructure planning, the environment and transportation and the work that is being done to address them.


2013 Events

Exploring Freight Hubs: Collaborative Land Use and Logistics Workshop,
November 29, 2013

This workshop was held in partnership with the Ministry of Transportation (MTO), Transport Canada and Metrolinx. It brought together freight and industry managers and goods movement experts for a collaborative workshop that explored the potential for freight hubs in Ontario and the GTHA.


Freight Day Symposium 2012, 2014

Freight Day is a day-long symposium held by the University of Toronto Transportation Research Institute (UTTRI) and sponsored by the Region of Peel and the Ministry of Transportation. The symposium showcases the transportation related research done by local and international speakers from industry and academia. Attendees range from industry associations, consultants, and different levels of government.

Goods Movement Conference
Delivering the Goods: Meeting Freight Challenges through Partnerships and Innovation
– November 3, 2010

The Peel Goods Movement Task Force brought together 300 private and public sector stakeholders to discuss goods movement in Peel Region and the Greater Golden Horseshoe. The conference addressed the challenges faced when moving goods in the Greater Golden Horseshoe, opportunities for improvements to the goods movement system, and the benefits of collaboration between the private and public sectors when planning for and implementing improvements.
