In Peel, the total number of licensed child care spaces accounts for 13.8% of the total population aged 0 to 12 years.

Research estimates the total number of licensed child care spaces in Ontario accounts for 15.4% of the total population aged 0 to 12 years (Source: Early childhood education and care in Canada 2012, M. Friendly, S. Halfon, J. Beach and B. Forer, Childcare Resource and Research Unit, 2012, pg. 55).

Figures include full-fee and subsidized spaces. Figures do not include licensed home child care as breakdown of home child care spaces by age group are not available.
