Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for Lornewood Creek Sanitary Sewer
from the Intersection of Streambank Drive and Saginaw Crescent to the
Intersection of Queen Street West and Ibar Way, South of CNR Tracks

The Study
A recent inspection of the Lornewood Creek Sanitary Sewer identified a need for possible relocation and/or remedial work. The Regional Municipality of Peel has retained Associated Engineering (Ont.) Ltd. to undertake a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) to evaluate alternatives and identify the preferred solution to the Lornewood Creek Sanitary Sewer Improvements in the City of Mississauga. The study area is presented on the map.

The Process
This Study is being conducted in accordance with the requirements for Schedule 'C' projects as described in the Municipal Engineers Association Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2007) document. The Class EA process includes public and review agency consultation, evaluation of alternatives, assessment of the impacts of any proposed undertakings, and identification of reasonable measures to mitigate any adverse impacts. Upon completion of this study, a Project File will be placed on public record.

The Importance of Public Input
Public consultation is important to this Study. The Region wants to ensure that anyone with an interest in this Study has the opportunity to get involved and provide input before any decisions are made on the preferred alternative. We are interested in receiving any comments that you may have about this study. Comments and information regarding this project are being collected to assist the Project Team in meeting the requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act. A Public Information Centre will be scheduled at a later date. For further information on this project, please contact Bob Lipka or Tony Barton at the contact information below.

Public input and comments are invited for incorporation into the planning and design of this project. Subject to completion of this Study, the Region intends to proceed with the planning, design and construction of this project, to be completed in 2009/2010.
