NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
Proposed Official Plan Amendment
Proposed Amendment Number 18 to the Region of Peel Official Plan to amend population, household and employment forecasts.
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the Regional Municipality of Peel will hold a public meeting, pursuant to Section 17(15) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended, to consider a proposed amendment to the Regional Official Plan:
Thursday, September 7, 2006, at 9:30 a.m.

The purpose of the Proposed Amendment:
To update the population, household and employment forecasts and to extend the planning horizon for the Rural System in the Regional Official Plan from “2021” to “2031”.
Location of the subject lands:
The subject lands are bounded by Mayfield Road to the south, Winston Churchill Boulevard to the west, the boundary line between Peel Region and York Region on the east and Highway 9 and the Caledon/East Garafraxa Town Line on the north.
The effect of the Proposed Amendment:
Amend several sections in the Regional Official Plan:
- Change the planning horizon date for the Rural System in the Regional Official Plan from “2021” to “2031”;
- Update Table 1, Population and Employment Forecasts for Peel, by replacing the existing Caledon portion of the table with updated forecasts for the period 2011, 2021 and 2031.

Copies of this information will be available to the public on August 18, 2006.

If a person or public body that files a notice of appeal of a decision of the Regional Municipality of Peel in respect to the proposed Official Plan Amendment does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Regional Municipality of Peel before the proposed Official Plan Amendment is adopted, the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) may dismiss all or part of the appeal. Written submissions must be provided to the Regional Clerk by September 7, 2006.
