Regular Service Delivery at Peel Region as Postal Service Resumes

BRAMPTON, ON (June 27, 2011) – The Region of Peel will resume regular processing of cheques, payments and forms with the return of Canada Post services on June 28, 2011. However, to ensure immediate access to income payments, Ontario Works recipients can pick up their cheques at their local Regional office until Monday, July 4. Regional offices are closed on Canada Day. Regular mailing of cheques will resume on Tuesday, July 5. Extended hours for cheque pick-ups are in effect until July 4 as follows:

  • Monday, June 27, Tuesday, June 28, and Wednesday, June 29: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 30: 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Friday, July 1: Region offices CLOSED for Canada Day
  • Monday, July 4: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Please note: In order to pick up a cheque, residents will need to show or provide identification.

Ontario Works - Mississauga Office

and Derry Road. The office is a single story grey building in an industrial park.

Regular office hours: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Monday to Friday, excluding holidays.

To receive Ontario Works assistance for July, recipients can report their income information by telephone, fax, e-mail or by dropping off a completed Income Reporting Statement at their local office. 

If payments are normally deposited into a bank account, Ontario Works recipients will receive their statement of assistance and drug card for July in the mail.
