Official Launch of 211 in Dufferin County

WHAT: Celebrate the launch of 211 in Dufferin County with an official ribbon cutting. 211 is a free, public information service that provides access to a broad range of community and social services. This easy to remember three-digit number helps connect people with reliable information quickly and easily - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in more than 150 languages.

211 telephone service is available in several regions throughout Ontario, with the goal of providing service to every part of Ontario by the end of 2011. The Region of Peel administers this service in Peel and Dufferin.

The Regional Municipality of Peel was incorporated in 1974 on the principle that certain community and infrastructure services are most cost-effectively administered over a larger geographic area. The Region of Peel serves more than one million residents in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon.
