Waste Collection Delays in Brampton
BRAMPTON, ON. (Feb. 3, 2011) Ė Due to recent inclement weather conditions, a small section of Bramptonís Thursday collection area will not receive garbage and recycling (blue box and green bin) collection on Thursday, Feb. 3.
The affected area is bordered by Bovaird Drive to the south, Mayfield Road to the north, Bramalea Road to the east and Hurontario Street to the west. The affected area will be collected on Friday, Feb. 4.
Residents whose garbage and recyclable material is not collected by 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 3 should remove the material from the curb and place it out for collection by 7 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 4.
Since it may be difficult for your waste collector to access your waste containers, please follow these steps to ensure the safety of your waste collector and that your waste containers are collected:
- Do not place containers on top of or behind snowbanks
- Place containers at ground level, as close to the road as possible, without obstructing the road.† The containers may be placed at the end of the driveway or on a flat surface near the bottom of the snowbank
- Avoid placing containers on icy surfaces
- Place heavier blue box items on top of lighter ones to prevent your recyclable materials from blowing away.† Or consider using transparent (clear or tinted blue) plastic recycling bags for collection
To find out whether your area is affected, please call the Region of Peel at 905-791-9499. Regional staff is monitoring the situation and will provide updates on any further waste collection delays if necessary.
