No, you are responsible for hiring an appropriate expert, who will work with you and your organization to, for example, create a vision and/or develop a concept for affordable housing project you wish to undertake.

How do I select a consultant?

The Region of Peel is not responsible for selecting consultants, however when engaging consultants you should consider identifying outcomes to be achieved by the consultant as related to the development/regeneration project such as:

  • Developing organization profile
  • Business plan
  • Need and demand analysis/market analysis
  • Cash flow analysis
  • Feasibility analysis (financial viability of project)
  • Proof of funding
  • Proof of community support (letter of support)
  • Zoning information (if available)

Do not hire a consultant before you receive approval to proceed with your regeneration or development project.

If you choose a consultant whose quote is higher than the approved funding amount, you will be responsible to pay the difference.
