Regional Council Approves 10 year Housing Plan

Regional Council approved Peel’s 10-year Housing and Homelessness Plan, which sets a strategic vision for the housing system over the next 10 years.

The Plan integrates housing and homelessness systems planning with the creation of a housing system that provides adequate, suitable and affordable housing options that allow individuals and families to secure employment, raise families and build strong communities.

The engagement process was shared by community stakeholders and the Region of Peel and resulted in approximately 700 individual responses that informed the content and priorities in the Plan.

The Plan also aligns with recent and ongoing housing and homelessness initiatives set under the Region’s Strategic Plan and Term of Council Priorities.

The Plan will guide Peel’s effort to build communities where individuals and families can thrive and everyone has affordable housing options.
