Bridge Funding for the Hansen Project

 

Regional Council approved the request of Supportive Housing in Peel (SHIP) for an interest bearing bridge loan from the Region of Peel, conditional upon the requirements of Peel. This loan, including interest will be repaid in full upon the receipt of the four instalments of Investment in Affordable Housing for Ontario (IAH), funding for the periods of 2012-2014 from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH).

The Region of Peel continues to support community involvement with the development of new affordable housing projects.

Paramedic Facility Co-location at 6375 Airport Road with the City of Mississauga, Ward 5
 

Regional Council approved a recommendation that The Regional Municipality of Peel enter in a Memorandum of Understanding with The Corporation of the City of Mississauga to commence design and construction of a co-located Fire and Paramedic Station located at 6375 Airport Road in the City of Mississauga.

The Region and the City have agreed to co-locate the Paramedic Station with the Fire Station on City lands. The City owns 2.224 acres of land and approximately 1.42 of the total will be utilized for the co-locate project.

The City will be taking lead on the project and the expected completion date for the facility is 2014. The cost for design and construction will be shared between both the Region of Peel and the City of Mississauga based on the proportionate share of total building area. The City of Mississauga will be the owner of the entire site and the Region of Peel will lease a proportionate share of the land used for the Paramedic station and common areas.
