Council approved the allocation of its 2005-2006
share of the Federal Gas Tax funding to the City
of Mississauga, City of Brampton and the Town

to improve transit services in Mississauga and
Brampton and commuter roads in Caledon.
Council recommended that TransHelp, in consultation
with the local area municipalities; the medical
professionals; the taxi industry and relevant
community organizations, undertake the development
of a detailed business and operational plan by
September, 2006 for consideration by Regional
Council in determining the allocation of the 2007-2009
Federal gas tax contribution in 2007.
Census data will be used to determine future allocation
to the area municipalities of the Federal Gas
Tax contribution to the Region of Peel.
