Let's celebrate the bravery and courage of our Canadian Heroes
The Region of Peel joins millions of Canadians to celebrate the bravery and courage of the men and women who dedicated their lives for our freedom and those who currently serve our country. Since the end of the First World War, Remembrance Day has been observed by Canada and other countries of the Commonwealth of Nations to remember and honour the members of the armed forces.
We commemorate the day yearly at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month. It is an opportunity for us to show respect and gratitude to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Take a few moments on Nov. 11 to thank those who made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedom.
To participate in Remembrance Day activities:
- Observe a moment of silence at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov.11
- Find and attend a local ceremony near to you
- Use hashtag #remembranceday to say thanks on social media
